Content Warning for Breaking the Code

  •  Limited coarse language including 'Bloody, fuck and fucking'
  • Brief sexual references, including the words 'fuck, penetration, masturbation, wanking, oestrogen, female sex hormones'.
  • Limited kissing and hugging.
  • Stuttering (as Alan Turing did)
  • Reference to chemical castration, suicide and death.
  • Criminalisation of homosexuality and punishment for it.

Violence

  • Two men beating (punching a third), a character intervenes and a scuffle ensues and the character is hit in the face.
  • A bank robbery is conducted, threats are made with a small pistol and the guard is tied up and told he will be shot if he moves before morning.
  • A character raises a knife to stab a prison guard in the back but is stopped.
  • A prison guard hits a character with a baton.
  • A character threatens a man with a knife and the gang take hostages.
  • In a shoot out with police two members of the gang and one officer are shot and killed- one on stage, the others referenced/implied.
  • References to war injuries- limited detail.
  • References to a hanging occurring- offstage.

References to Abuse

  • A character mentions his father gave him black eyes calls him a violent drunken. He references him becoming violent with his sisters and mother.
  • References are also made to abuse in prison- limited detail.
